Aurasteep® began with a moment so small it could have been missed—and one remarkable cup that changed everything.
Before Aurasteep®
A life shaped by tea.
Its founder had spent years moving fast—building brands, driving sales, and deepening her expertise within the specialty tea industry. Along the way, she worked with respected companies including IMS/Bigelow Tea, Numi Organic Tea, and Mighty Leaf Tea.
She pursued extensive tea education, earning STI Certification Level 4 and Taiwan Tea Institute certification while traveling to some of the world’s most celebrated tea-growing regions.
One destination left a lasting impression: Taiwan.
The cup that changed everything

In a quiet mountain village, a tea grower handed her a cup of Oriental Beauty Oolong. As she lifted the cup, something shifted. There was no rush, no noise, no agenda—only the gentle steam rising into the cool air and the slow unfurling of the hand-rolled leaves as they revealed their character, one steep at a time.
The grower spoke about tea the way an artist speaks about clay or a gardener speaks about soil—with reverence, patience, and a deep respect for the natural process. The experience invited her to slow down, be present, and appreciate the beauty of things that cannot be rushed.

What made Oriental Beauty even more remarkable was its unique creation. Unlike most teas, its distinctive flavor develops through a natural partnership with tiny green leafhoppers. These insects gently nibble the tea leaves, triggering a reaction within the plant that creates the tea’s signature honeyed sweetness, floral aroma, and extraordinary complexity.
From inspiration to intention
Aurasteep® was born.
Inspired by that experience, the founder began working directly with small-batch growers who continue to craft tea with care and intention. Whole leaves were chosen not only for their exceptional flavor and aroma, but also for what they represent: a slower, more attentive way of living.
The name Aurasteep® reflects the belief that tea is more than a beverage. It is an experience—a warmth, a ritual, an atmosphere. Like a gentle aura, it surrounds you, grounding you in the present moment and reconnecting you with yourself.
